Jimmy's Company Anniversary @ Manly 2009-01-08

To celebrate Jimmy's company survival for more than a year, we have an accidental drinking at Manly. To honor his promise, he opened 1976 Chateau Lafite.
In return, we opened the following wines:

All the old wines performed very well. Especially the 1966 Margaux and 1976 Lafite. Margaux has a great nose, very pure, black currant, tea leaf and cedar box nose. Still have strong tannin. Lafite is very round and rich. Nice drink.

Cheval Blanc and Mouton are also good. The former is still young and the latter is very mouton like, coffee oaky nose.


My preference is
66 Margaux > 76 Lafite > 83 Cheval Blanc > 78 Mouton > 89 Lalande
2005 Batard Montrachet > 2005 Bienvenue Batard Montrachet
