1999 Bollinger VVF & Golden Egde 方

The 1999 Bollinger VVF just arrived. They are so rare and expensive.

"Absolutely unique in Champagne, Bollinger “Vieilles Vignes Françaises” is the living relic of what Champagne was a century ago before phylloxera destroyed the vineyards of France. Mysteriously, in Aÿ and Bouzy, a few plots of ungrafted vines resisted the American louse. The Bollinger family decided to preserve these vineyards. The Vieilles Vignes Françaises are planted en foule (i.e. layered) and cultivated manually with traditional tools and according to ancient methods. These methods - which are costly and generate low yields - allow the grapes to reach a more complete maturity whilst maintaining a low pH (high acidity), characteristic of a great Champagne. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir and only produced in vintage years, Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Françaises is always a huge and complete wine and is the expression of Champagne as it was enjoyed last century."

4930 bottles produced.
very very fine bubbles,
looks like ordinary champagne, fresh and clean
tastes like full bodied, rich burgundy wine with great complexity
great nose &
absolutely outstanding!

Each champagne contained in a wooden box. Very elegant.

There is a leaflet inside to show the vintage characteristics and history of Bollinger VVF.

I think the old design is better.
Special fish.......... mmmmmmmmmmmm方
Thanks Ahfa for finding this for me.
Golden Edge?
It was tasty and better than ordinary 方 but not the best I have had before.

2006 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle Musigny Amoureuses

I Just received a package of 2006 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle Musigny Amoureuses. It was totally unexpected that the domaine put the wine in such a package. Firstly it was wrapped in a paper box and sealed with specific Drouhin tape.

After I opened the paper box, there was a beautiful wooden box inside, you can slide from the top of the wooden box and you can open it.

The wines are well stored. This european stocks may be different from US stocks. The most interesting thing is CM Amoureuses is just 1er Cru, but it was packed in wooden box. At the same time I received Drouhin 2004 Griottes Chambertin Grand Cru and it was packed in paper box only. It seems that CM Amoureuses are very special from the Domaine point of view.
